The man appears to be un-phased by the lioness and moves closer towards it, holding his hand out at the Nehru Zoological Park in India.

People watching can be heard screaming in fear, and throwing rocks to try and scare the lion away.

Prasad Pillai, who took the video, told UNILAD:

Yes this man is around 35 aged who was drunk and jumped into a lion enclosure in Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad, India to shake hands with a lion.

We were all so shocked to see such a mad act and were praying to God to save him.

Also we were throwing stones to move the lion back.

Luckily [h[he]ot rescued unhurt by the alert animal keeper. Late this man was handed over to the cops for violating zoo rules.

The video is a perfect example of how much a man becomes fearless after taking alcohol. Truly unbelievable.

It is not clear what scares the male lion away, but it jumps backwards before running off.

The careless man was lucky to be rescued with no injuries and was arrested shortly after.
