When you just want to take a selfie video the last thing you need is someone sh*tting all over your limelight – but sometimes sh*t happens, literally and figuratively.
18-year-old Sydney Gainforth from Michigan was on the way home from the vets with her nine-year-old chocolate Labrador Buddy.
Enjoying listening to Harry Styles, Sydney decided to film herself singing along as she drove home not realising what was happening on the back seats.
Filming herself then turning the camera onto Buddy in the back, Sydney realises what is going on and it clearly gives her a shock.
Mouth agape in surprise, in the video Sydney can be heard saying:
Oh my god that is god awful. Buddy! He just sh*t in the back of my car. Oh my god!
Oh Sydney!
Speaking exclusively to UNILAD, Sydney admitted she was really to blame for the incident.
She explained:
When we walked out of the vet’s office I was going to let him go to the bathroom in the field but then I figured he could wait until we got home.
In the car I was listening to Harry Styles because I was going to his concert that night! Anyway, I was really feeling the music in a Snapchat that I was sending to my friend and completely missed what was going on behind me. I know I shouldn’t have been Snapchatting and driving.
I was so disgusted I couldn’t even comprehend what was happening. I had to pull over because I was gagging so much from the smell. I tried to get it out but I couldn’t do it so I called my dad and told him what happened.
I begged him to get it out of my car, but I still ended up doing it anyway.
It is almost as if Buddy knew you shouldn’t have been on your phone while driving Sydney!
You can watch the hilarious footage here:
Luckily for Sydney although her dad refused to help, laughing instead, cleaning up the mess wasn’t very difficult.
In fact as Sydney says it was ‘actually surprisingly easy to clean up’.
Sharing the video with her friends and family, Sydney’s sister Nicole shared it on Twitter and naturally it went viral.
Nicole captioned the video:
Let’s just take a moment to appreciate my sister NOT REALISING WHAT WAS GOING ON AT FIRST!
Turns out the internet did appreciate the moment as the tweet has received over 18,000 likes and 8,800 retweets at time of writing.
Sydney couldn’t believe how viral the video went as she told UNILAD:
I truly didn’t expect my video to become so viral. I recently went to the beach and I can’t even count how many times people, who I didn’t even know, said they knew me from my video.
They then followed that up with a few quote from my video.
Truly unbelievable!
Next time Sydney takes Buddy out for a drive, I think she will ensure he has done his business before getting into the car – or at least let him choose the music.
