It sounds like a shortcut to some sort of health problem, but a guy has eaten a Domino’s every day for a year, and is healthier now than when he started.
Brian Northrup ate a whole Domino’s pizza every day for a whole year, and has got shredded in the process.
He’s inspired jealousy across the internet for his abs and toned muscles, despite tucking into a deep dish every day as part of his ‘PIZZAPOCALYPSE’.
Brian insists to UNILAD that he was doing the same thing before he started documenting his food intake and workouts, but decided to do this to prove that diet wasn’t everything.
He said:
I actually frame the relationship between my exercise and nutrition in a fundamentally different way than the conventional thought process. This was actually a major reason why I embarked on PIZZAPOCALYPSE in the first place.
Burning off calories is not my reason for working out, to me that’s putting the cart before the horse. Basically, I eat more in order to work out more – as opposed to working out more so that I can eat more.
Brian insists this is more than clever wordplay, it has allowed him to go from being unable to run between classes to running over ten miles per day.
On the anniversary of PIZZAPOCALYPSE, Brian recorded his weight and compared it to the previous year. He lost almost six pounds eating a whole pizza every day for a year. Bastard.
There haven’t been many other sacrifices in order to achieve this success, as far as social life is concerned.
He tells us that he still drinks whenever he wants, and will eat plenty of chicken wings and ice cream.
He said:
The hard part, the part that has been a sacrifice, was going from not having a camera, or editing software (let alone knowing how to use it), around 13 months ago, to recording/editing/uploading/posting over 300 videos this past year.
But I’ve never been big on going to bars or clubs or whatever, even in college.
Basically, Brian tells us to stop seeing exercise as the enemy, and to see food and exercise as complementary ways to get us in better shape.
Any excuse for a pizza as far as I’m concerned.
