Pregnancy is a glorious time for any woman – or man, apparently.
Revelling in their own fertility, many modern mums have followed in the footsteps of Demi Moore, Serena Williams, Beyonce and Blac Chyna – to name but a few – and captured their bumps on camera for posterity.
You can watch Serena Williams’ new husband show off her cover on TV:

While celebs might have style when it comes to maternity photoshoots, undoubtedly no one can match the humour with which this guy approached the very 21st century concept.
When one mum-to-be found out about her little miracle, her boyfriend, Nick Roberts, stepped in with a McDonalds food baby to create some pre-paternity memories of his own, he told UNILAD.
Nick Roberts enlisted his gym buddy and professional photographer, Stephen Coiwk, to take some artful pictures of his fruitful belly.
The pair of men, who Nick described as ‘the maternity men of our era’ embarked on a majestic journey of discovery.
What happened next saw Nick, who actually is somewhat of a weightlifter who can bench 325lbs when he’s not bloated from fast food, demonstrate the sort of resourcefulness and humour that will surely make this guy a truly great dad.
Speaking exclusively to UNILAD, Nick, 25, said:
After finding out my girlfriend and I were pregnant, Stephen jokingly suggested that we do a photo shoot in the same style of a maternity shoot.
After talking more about it, we decided that we should follow through with it, do the shoot and not tell my girlfriend. So, one day Stephen came to my house, picked me up, and off we were.
The two Bostonians came up with a tasty way to recreate that beautiful pregnant belly, joking:
We went straight to McDonalds and ordered an absurd amount of food that I had to slam into my face hole. I had 2 McDoubles, a McChicken, a four-piece chicken nugget, two chocolate chip cookies, and a medium Dr Pepper.
If I’m being completely honest, the awful cramps from the double cheeseburgers brought me so much closer to the pregnancy.
Now, I’ll never know what being in labor feels like, but I feel in my heart it can’t be too far away from eating a lot of fast food. I’m truly blessed to have had this eye-opening experience.
Now for the location. Stephen, 26, needed ‘a place that would truly capture the essence of a real maternity photo shoot’.
After finding a beautiful spot in the wilds of Massachusetts, on someone’s private land no less, the determined men weren’t put off by the prospect of trespassing.
After all, aren’t those with baby exempt from a lot of laws?
Nick laughed as he remembered the hilarious parody shoot, adding:
We spent about two hours shooting. It was a difficult shoot to get done, due to the nonstop laughing and the fact that we were covered in ticks. [The s[The shoot was]y tough to do because we could just not control ourselves.
But what to do with a collection of such fine photography? Stephen made a photo album of all the photos, and strategically place it by itself on a table at the couple’s gender reveal party.
Nick, a local plumber, told UNILAD:
We put the album on a table where nobody was sitting, walked away, grabbed a beer, sat down and waited. The album didn’t go unnoticed for very long.
The first unassuming person approached the book as Stephen and I sat in the distance and watched, waiting to see their reaction.
It was everything we hoped it to be. As soon as they flipped the cover to the album, their head whipped back and hysterical laughter began! Not long after, people began to surround the table. Our mission was a success.
In this day and age of gender equality, it seems only right that fathers should be willing and able to share in so many of the joyous stages of pregnancy.
We women of the world welcome the input, and are looking forward to the day when medical science develops a way for you guys to share in the swollen bodies, weird food cravings and the pain of childbirth too.
Nick and Brianna’s baby boy, Logan, was born on Halloween. Congratulations to the new parents and baby Logan for having such a top dad.
