Guy Uses McLovin ID In Pub And Bouncer Accepts It

Undoubtedly, the best scene from 2007’s hit comedy, Superbad, sees Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s character, Fogell, buy alcohol using a ridiculously fake ID.

Bearing the fake name of ‘McLovin’ – it was either that or ‘Muhammed’ – according to the ID, Fogell is a 25-year-old Hawaiian organ donor, and yet, he somehow gets away with it. Oh, until he gets hit in the face of course…

It turns out 21-year-old Lee Davis from St Neots in Cambridgeshire is a real life Fogell, a.k.a. McLovin, having the same fake ID accepted at a pub!

And it was all captured on camera:

Enjoying drinks with his pals at his local Wetherspoons, when the bouncer came over on his routine check of IDs, Lee thought he’d try out the McLovin one.

As seen on the Snapchat video, despite giving the ID a long and hard stare, the bouncer accepted it!

Speaking exclusively to UNILAD, Lee explained how he couldn’t believe what had happened:

The ID was my mate Josh’s. I had my actual ID in my wallet. The bouncers came round at nine to everyone in the pub, to check on everyone in there who were there before, and to make sure they were 18-years-old or over.

We have a running joke about me basically being McLovin, so we thought it’d be funny to hand them the ID, expecting them to have a laugh about it and then ask for my real ID.

But when we gave it to him, he looked at it for a bit longer than usual and then just gave it back and continued checking everyone else’s.

I think everyone found it pretty funny other than the bouncer. We might try it at a different place if we end up in another situation like that!

And before you start thinking ‘oh Lee must look like McLovin’, well he certainly doesn’t:

Lee’s mate Josh, the owner of the ID, filmed it all on his phone and was shocked it worked, as he’d never had any success with it before.

He told UNILAD:

I just found it hilarious at the time because Lee not only looks nothing like McLovin, but also the ID says he’s 37-years-old, which he obviously isn’t.

The ID is mine. My girlfriend got it for me as one of my birthday presents because Superbad is my favourite film.

We actually tried using the ID once at a club before and we were told to ‘f*ck off’ by the bouncer, so this was a delightful surprise this time around.

Maybe it’s just Lee who can get away with it then? Better luck next time Josh!

Believing the world should see the video, Josh shared it on his Twitter writing:

Bouncer was doing ID checks round spoons and Lee managed to pass for McLovin from Superbad. [sic]

We think Lee should try out some other film-themed fake IDs to see what he can get away with it. Clark Kent? Jason Bourne? Maybe even James Bond?
