After the appalling terror attack on Manchester, there are still so many missing people yet to be found and their friends and families have been sharing messages hoping to get in contact.
Following the hideous suicide bomb attack on Manchester arena last night which has left 22 people dead an 120 injured, so many people have still been left unaccounted for.
Friends and relatives of those still missing have been sharing their loved ones photos on social media, in the hope they will will be recognised.
Among those missing is Nell Jones, 14 – from Goostrey – who is believed to have been on crutches at the concert.
Knutsford Young Farmers posted on Facebook:
One of our members and close friend Nell Jones was at the concert last night and sadly is still missing! If anyone hears from Nell please let someone know! #PrayForNell.
Chantelle Garrity reported her friend Kelly Brewster, 32 from Sheffield was missing and has shared her picture on Facebook in a bid ti locate her.
It is thought Kelly ‘shielded’ her niece with her body after the horrific explosion.
Sasha Howe’s mum, Alison Howe, 44 and Lisa Lees,43 – her friend’s mum – from Royton, also attended the gig are among those missing.
Wendy Fawell, 50 from Leeds was waiting outside the arena after dropping off her daughter, daughter’s boyfriend and his brother and hasn’t been seen or contacted since the explosion.
Student at York college – Alex Klis – has posted on Facebook in the hopes of finding her parents Angelika and Marcin who have been seen or contactable since the horrendous incident.
Teenagers Chloe Rutherford, 17 and Liam Curry, 19 – both from South Shields – haven’t been in contact since attending the Ariana Grande gig.
Martyn,29, from Stockport is still missing and his friend Stuart has been sharing photos, in the hopes of getting in contact.
He wrote:
The more news that is coming out, the scarier this is getting. There was an explosion at the Ariana Grande concert tonight in Manchester and I haven’t seen my friend Martyn since.
He went to the bar about 20 minutes before the end of the concert and got chatting to some girls. As I was leaving, the explosion happened and everyone started running.
I just want to find out that he’s safe somewhere.
Keen Ariana fan Eilidh MacLeod – from the Scottish Isle of Barra – is still missing following the appalling crime. Her friend, Laura is in hospital being treated for injuries.
One of the girl’s aunt Margaret MacNeil posted a heartbreaking message to Facebook, seeking help in finding the pair:
Please please please share! My niece and her friend were at the Ariana Grande concert tonight and there has been no contact since the explosion. Please let us find the girls safe and well. They are Eilidh MacLeod and Laura MacIntyre.
Courtney Boyle and Philip Tron were at the concert last night, but sadly haven’t been seen since.
Courtney’s mum Deborah Hutchinson has posted a plea for information on Facebook regarding their disappearance:
My daughter Courtney Boyle and partner Philip Tron have gone missing in a attack at Manchester tonight please share and help find them I need them home safe xX.
Teenager Olivia Campbell, 15, and her best friend Adam Lawler were at the arena last night and while Adam is receiving treatment at Manchester Royal Infirmary, Olivia’s mum – Charlotte – has been unable to contact her.
Charlotte told the MEN:
I know where Adam is and I know that Olivia isn’t with him.
I’ve been told by the police that she’s registered as a missing person.
She had her phone with her but it’s dead, I don’t know whether she’s lost it in the stampede to get out of there, but she knows by number off by heart so I know she can contact me if she’s able to.
So far, only three people to have been confirmed dead in the blast have been named and many of the fatalities are thought to be under the age of 18.
These include 26-year-old John Atkinson, eight-year-old Saffie Rose Sousass and 18-year-old Georgina Callander.
The blast went off shortly after the popstar finished her set, tearing through the foyer of the arena, separating families and claiming many victims.
Shortly after, authorities conducted a controlled explosion of an unknown package at Cathedral Gardens in the city centre, but it was later discovered to be abandoned clothing.
Manchester Victoria Station was then on lockdown, with all trains and trams coming to a halt and cancellations continuing into Tuesday.
Horrific footage emerged from the scene last night, showing people covered in blood and trying to escape as devastation wreaked through the arena.
The suicide bomber – who died at the scene – has now been identified as 23-year-old Salman Abedi, who detonated his homemade explosive device, killing himself and many others in the process.
Greater Manchester Police issued a statement earlier, condemning the killer’s actions and sharing a message of condolence to the families of the loved ones who fell victim to the attack and who are still missing.
