‘Stuff for sale’ Facebook groups are usually filled with people trying to palm off their unwanted junk online.
If you’re in need of a used pair of football boots, a mobile phone with a cracked screen or a bike that looks like it’s had one careful but misfortunate owner then it’s definitely the place to shop.
Every now and again a rare quality item goes on sell for a cheap price, much like Stewart Knox’s invisibility cloak.
Among the adverts for old DVDs and unkempt furniture, on the Stuff for Sale Edinburgh and Lothians Facebook group is the bargain of the century – a £200 invisibility cloak.
Seriously though take a look its pretty awesome:
When cheeky punter Stewart posted the advert he wasn’t being serious, although he did show some rather brilliant acting and his modelling in the photos is of a standard of a man ready to do business.
Solemnly swearing that he is up to no good, Stewart shared the photos along with the following irresistible advert:
Selling my invisibility cloak. I have included one picture of the cloak and one with it on.
Size 42 men’s with a 15 inch collar and two inside pockets in colour blue. Still has tags on it, worn a few times but selling as I’ve put some weight on and is tight around the chest.
Grab yourself a bargain.
Naturally people flooded to the comments section curious to know more with the post quickly going viral receiving 6,600 likes at time of writing (May 30).
Speaking exclusively to UNILAD, Stewart explained the inspiration behind his hilarious advert:
I had a bad hand injury so I was off work for a week recovery and I get bored very easily. I got the hand injury the first day back from our family holiday in Florida.
My nine-year-old son Daigan, he had bought one of those Harry Potter wands over there and we had talked about how awesome it would be if you could actually buy an invisibility cloak and what you could get up to with one.
If the post makes people laugh then I’ll usually do it.
Laughter is the best medicine out there and I’m always looking for an angle to make a joke or make people laugh. It’s the best thing in the world. You forget all your worries and fears.
And as Stewart admits it also impresses his son who ‘thinks its great’ making him ‘a cool dad now’.
If he wants to keep this status though he will probably have to take Daigan to see the latest Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald.

Stewart’s advert really had quite the impact as he received around 300 messages from people curious to know more.
He added:
I’ve had messages ranging from Harry Potter enthusiasts to people who actually believe it’s real! I’ve had to tell them I’ve lost it and can’t find it but if it turns up I’ll be in touch.
I really fancy having an invisibility cloak myself so I really hope Stewart does find it. I wonder where it could have disappeared to…?
