The adult actress famed for her political ‘Pompa Tour’ has been banned from Instagram and she’s fighting back against what she calls censorship.

Paola Saulino isn’t exactly what you’d call the picture of compliance – more power to her – but her pictures have got her into trouble with the Internet Jury.

The Italian entertainer, who went viral last year after offering oral sex to any male who voted ‘no’ in the Italian referendum, is now taking on social media giants, Instagram.

Her account, @insta_paolina, has been blocked for over a week with, she claims, no valid or reasonable explanation.

Paola told UNILAD:

My Instagram account was suspended for over 14 days now for no apparent reason.

I’ve experienced this problem in the past but my IG was down for less than a week and the reason Instagram gave was that I have explicit content on my page.

She claims Instagram’s rationale ‘is obviously not accurate because I never violated Instagram’s policy’.

Instagram is notorious for their unfair and unjust community guidelines, which have been criticised for holding sexist undertones before.

Many have lent their bodies and minds to the ‘Free The Nipple’ campaign – which targets Instagram’s hypocrisy – among the likes of Caitlin Stacey and Emily Ratajkowski.

For example, the double standards between male and female anatomies – which is perpetrated over and over by Instagram – was called out through the @genderlessnipples account.

The account posts close up photographs submitted by men and women alike of their nipples, totally bamboozling the folks over at Instagram, who can’t tell which nipples to be outraged by and which to allow on the world wide web.

The results are hilarious – but poignant at a time when women are still penalised for the female anatomy and its actual biological uses.

Paola is now calling the platform out, telling UNILAD:

I created a movement for sexual liberation and freedom of self expression – my Pompatour – and it leads me to the idea Instagram is not allowing me to express myself and spread my message, especially when I have only positive intentions.

As we are living in times when people need to become more loving to their own appearance and sexuality, and move on from the shame that often at times, is a common part of our personal traits.

Paola believes there may be an underlying political motivation for stifling her movement:

The elections in Italy are coming soon and maybe played a role as well, since I created my Pompatour campaign based on the Italian referendum some time ago.

It drew a lot of attention and some thought my movement was more political as I proposed to perform oral sex with each and every person who voted ‘No’.

But the idea and intention behind the campaign was never political, I was being socially active in my own way and expressed my opinion that I’m against changing the constitution in the way it was proposed.

Paola is now determined to ‘create a movement of a sort to get my account back’ and ‘let Instagram know their actions were not really fair’.

Paola has taken to Twitter with the hashtag ‘Unban Paola’, arguing she hasn’t done anything wrong:

Social media is increasingly used by porn stars, with oftentimes positive affects to their careers and livelihoods.

Instagram has became an integral part of the business of adult entertainment.

Harriet Sugarcookie told UNILAD how it can be a force of both good and evil:

Instagram’s guidelines read:

We know there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on Instagram.

This includes photos, videos and some digitally-created content that show sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks.

It concludes:

It also includes some photos of female nipples, but photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding are allowed. Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK, too.

UNILAD have contacted Instagram for comment.
