A student slurped amaretto from a hip flask as Good Morning Britain correspondent Katy Rickitt chatted to sixth formers about their A-Level results.
James White from Winstanley College in Wigan, was super nervous before opening those all-important A Level Results, and students up and down the country could completely relate.
As Katy interviewed his classmates Fiona and Laura, James can be seen in the background, taking a sizeable drop of Dutch courage. At one point he attempts to hide the flask behind his results envelope, a move which fooled literally no-one.

Speaking with UNILAD, James said:
At the time I was nervous to see my results, and very relieved to find I’d done well enough to get into my first choice for uni.
Since then, I’ve had a lot of fun with the clip being posted everywhere.
Planning on having a night out with friends to celebrate.
Luckily, James earned a cracking set of results, racking up 2 As and 2 Bs in Law, Psychology, English Language and an extended project.
His hard work has paid off and he will be attending the prestigious University of Liverpool in the autumn, studying for a Law degree.
He has also become something of a folk hero on social media…
Wigan lad starting early on the hip flask in his college live on tv….what a town!

Wigan. Keeping it classy.
Only reason we didn't have a hip flask on results day was because we were hungover from the night before. https://t.co/CKvqi8UyA5

James clearly has the brains and the alcohol tolerance to make it through uni, and we wish him all the best.
Taking the idea of ‘being woke’ to a whole new level over a decade-long career in sport, court and online news, George has worked for titles and agencies including ESPN FC, Eurosport, LADbible and Court News UK. He may not have a degree but does have an unhealthy obsession with Lord of the Rings.
