I think we can all agree crisps are amazing and I think we can all definitely agree, Christmas dinner is one of the lushest moments of the year.

Yet what if these two culinary delights were fused together in a beautiful, festive spectacle? Well wonder no more because we finally have the answer…

Super-cool Soho based ‘crisps and dip café’, Hipchips, are now offering their unique take on Christmas dinner – completely made up of luxury, hand-crafted crisps and special seasonal dips.

Hipchips is the ideal location for people who take their crisps seriously, with popular dip flavours including Beetroot & Lemongrass Marmalade, Smokey Cheese Fondue, Picked Red Onion and Chocolate Salty Caramel Cheesecake.

They use a specialist range of potatoes to lovingly craft their crisps, including Shetland Black, Red Duke of York and Pink Fur Apple, with each spud apparently having its own signature taste and virtues.

According to the Hipchips website:

Potatoes haven’t always been so dull. Or yellow. The humble spud was once a very different beast. Tastier. Knobblier. More colourful.

We’ve been digging around to find the best heritage varieties, serving them up delicately fried alongside our mind-blowing dips.

Who knew tatties could be so fancy? The crisps themselves are cooked fresh on the premises, and really are a cut above the rest.

The Christmas Dinner Box includes a smoked salmon and pickled cucumber dip, but the main course is fairly ‘traditional’ – as far as crisp-based dinners go – involving a seasonal turkey dinner dip.

Then it’s on to the Christmas pudding and brandy sauce flavour dip for dessert which – despite sounding delish – I honestly cannot quite envision with crisps?

Capital city slickers can grab their own box for a mere £6.75. Ideal festive movie food?

Hipchips told UNILAD how the crisps are ‘the perfect party food accompaniment’:

This December, HIPCHIPS – London’s first crisp and dip cafe – is launching an entirely unique and innovative menu that will feature a whole Christmas dinner in dips.

Set in the form of a ‘Christmas Dinner Box,’ four varieties of handcrafted, heritage crisps will be paired with a three course menu of both sweet and savoury dips: think smoked salmon and pickled cucumbers to start, a traditional turkey dinner for main and for that ultimate festive finish – a sweet Christmas pudding and brandy sauce dip!

HIPCHIPS’ central Soho location on Old Compton Street is also the perfect spot to take a break from all that Christmas shopping and indulge in a festive take on the great British snack.

Crisps and dips go hand in hand with beer and wine and HIPCHIPS have matched the food, with a carefully curated selection of craft beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks.

Trendy Londoners can order their festive crisps and dip through UberEats, which is completely ideal for when you want to hide away from the cold winter weather with some tasty, posh snacks.
