You Can Now Train To Become A Jedi

If the title of the latest Star Wars franchise instalment is to be believed, the way of the Jedi is dying out. 

Spoilers – and the world of the silver screen aside – The Order of the Jedi can be saved in real life, all you need do is answer the call.

The ancient monastic, academic, meritocratic and paramilitary organisation, whose origin dates back to 25,000 BBY – Before Battle of Yavin which saw the destruction of the first Death Star – needs you to learn their trade and save them from extinction.

A training school for that, there is.

As Yoda once said, Jedi should always pass on what they have learned.

While we can’t guarantee Obi-Wan himself will be teaching you how to use the Force, one company has now opened a Jedi School for those with promise.

All the Jedi mind skills you’ll need to defeat the Galactic Empire, The First Order – and the Dark Side forces of evil so readily enlist to do their bidding – will be taught by Jedi masters, akin in stature and strength to the great Mark Hamill, presumably.

This out-of-this-world privilege and honour is hosted by The Stag Company – a group of guys who understand ‘most grown men still dream of being a Jedi in their sleep.’

Speaking to UNILAD, Tom Bourtlet described what you can expect:

Over a few hours the group will experience what it’s like to train as a Jedi.

Starting out as a Padawan like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, they’ll be drilled in the basic techniques of swordplay before graduating fully to Jedi and the infamous lightsabers.

Tom also moved on to the Jedi’s all-important weapon of choice:

These lightsabers are as close to the real thing as you can get without cutting fingers off.

You’ll even be able to choose the colour of your lightsaber depending on which side you align with, the dark, or the light.

The chosen ones – namely the future-husbands and their mates – will meet a Jedi master who’s skilled in Jedi combat to learn the ways of the force and lightsaber battle tactics.

As Star Wars fever floods the nation and Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi continues to storm UK box offices, we could all use a little Jedi mind control to stop us losing the plot – literally and metaphorically – through pure galactic glee.

Tom concluded, saying he thinks ‘this is an epic stag weekend activity for the Star Wars addict and a great alternative to traditional stag activities’.

You don’t even have to travel to a galaxy far, far, away to learn how to become a Jedi, with locations in Brighton and London.

So, you can now rejoin Luke Skywalker, Rey and Kylo Ren on the big screen, safe in the knowledge your fictional heroes (and villains, depending on your perspective) are just within your grasp.
