Here’s How To Make A ‘Han Solo Frozen In Carbonite’ Fridge

Han Solo being frozen in carbonite during The Empire Strikes Back is one of the most iconic moments across all the Star Wars films.

It’s been replicated on key rings, phone cases and posters – but now say hello to a game changer. You can have a fridge with a stuck Harrison Ford. Yep Han Solo in carbonite. On a fridge.

And not a mini fridge either. Nope, Adam Savage (with a bit of help from movie prop maker, Frank Ippolito) decided to test out if you could actually recreate the moment on a full sized fridge for his YouTube channel, Tested, and it worked.

Not only did it work, but it looks fucking epic.

Apparently, it’s supposed to be pretty easy to do (but then again, self assembly furniture instructions say that all the time, and a busted thumb and hours later, we realise they’re lying), but I’m going to give it a try anyway.

If you want to have a go, here’s how:

You would need a few things, least of all a full scale replica of Solo in carbonite, complete with Ford’s anguished facial expression, a big fridge (obviously), grey paint and some special lights for added panache.

Now it does look like a fair bit of effort, but come on. You can have a fridge with Han f*cking Solo on it. That, in my opinion is well worth the time and effort.

Alternativley, if you want a Han Solo fridge but have zero DIY skills, you can buy a sticker for the door (for a fairly hefty price mind). So there you go. No excuses.

Oh, and fill your cupboards with these while you’re at it:
