Tiny Details You’ll Have Definitely Missed In New Game Of Thrones Trailer

WARNING: Potential Spoilers!

HBO

If you didn’t know that the trailer for Season 7 of Game of Thrones dropped yesterday then first of all may you burn for all eternity in dragonfire.

But before you do that, here’s the trailer so you know what you’ll be missing:

[ooyala code=”JyeTVjYjE6qQktJlrXQ7sMjqLmahZNey” player_id=”5df2ff5a35d24237905833bd032cd5d8″ auto=”true” width=”1280″ height=”720″ pcode=”twa2oyOnjiGwU8-cvdRQbrVTiR2l”]

Pretting fucking amazing right? Feels like it’s been 100 years waiting for this to come.

Anyway, there’s a lot going on in that trailer that is hard to unpack, luckily we live in a world of amazing Game of Thrones nerds who can do that for us.

The bastions of goodness on the internet that are Reddit users are chief amongst these nerds, and user ‘JonAndRamsey4Life‘ is who we must give thanks to today.

They have broken down every single shot of the trailer to try and dissect what Westeros hi-jinx we can expect from the penultimate season.

Below we pick the best few and take a look at what’s to come. Naturally, potential SPOILERS follow:

HBO

Let’s kick right off with some dragons, because why not?

Here, it is quite clear in the context of the trailer that the trifecta of awesomeness are knocking about round Dragonstone where Daenerys was born.

There’s more in the trailer about Daenersys coming to Dragonstsone but it’s definitely worth noting that her three scaled kiddies are free and roaming in the natural roosting ground of some of Westeros’ most dangerous dragons.

HBO

Tyrion also seems to be pretty enamoured with them, he’s had a relatively large amount of screen time with the dragons compared with the rest of the cast, and his ‘obsession’ with them has led many corners of the internet to believe that Tyrion himself might be a Targaryen.

This certainly does nothing to put that theory to bed.

HBO

Here we see the Unsullied going at it in Casterly Rock. It clearly is Casterly Rock considering the Lion sigil over the entrance.

Surely this suggests that Daenerys and her crew are moving across to Westeros at a faster pace than originally thought.

It’s unclear when in the show this will take place, but it seems it will take place sooner rather than later. There’s no snow on the ground at this point and it’s quite hard to imagine that this season will end without the whole of the land covered in the stuff.

I Could be completely wrong though.

HBO

Roll up, roll up everyone’s favourite mop-haired northener!

The interesting part about this shot is that Jon is gearing up to lay into Littlefinger right in front of Lyanna Stark’s tomb.

Could we be seeing further revelations about Jon’s parentage in the coming season? Whatever it is, Jon certainly doesn’t look happy…

HBO

To be honest this is mainly going on here because it’s such a cool shot, this is Game of Thrones after all.

What we have seen is that the Dothraki are going into full blown battle mode with the Lannister army who look equally badass, replete in gold and red with bitchin’ shields.

Add to that the dragon seen at the end of the trailer (identity unconfirmed) and it looks like we have a battle to rival the intensity of The Battle Of The Bastards.

HBO

Okay so this is definitely Jorah, that unlucky SOB. It’s pretty clear he hasn’t got that nasty skin condition looked at, and he looks like he might be locked up. Maybe he’s lost it?

Although, thinking about it, there’s nothing to say that he couldn’t be healed, as even survivors are scarred for life.

Judging by the fact he’s clearly in some sort of cage, it doesn’t bode well.

HBO

This is potentially my favourite part of the trailer, the look on Jon’s face is pure terror.

It has been rumoured that there is to be a massive action sequence featuring the White Walkers late into the season, and it looks like this might well be our first glimpse.

With knowledge that Bran is also around these parts, its not a big stretch to expect some magical action going down.

HBO

So far we’ve had dragons, battles, white walkers, now time for some sex scenes. It wouldn’t be Game of Thrones without it.

Despite initial internet breakages over the possibility that this was Jon and Sansa, upon closer inspection it is actually clearly Yara Greyjoy and Ellaria Sand.

This could mean one of two things: either a Greyjoy/Dorne alliance, or RIP Yara.

The last woman that Ellaria kissed ended up dead, and there’s the potential for it to go south for Yara very quickly if she is being drawn in.

However, given the alliance between Yara and Daenerys and Ellaria and Daenerys separately, it is possible that this is simply just two good looking women enjoying each other’s company.

Either way, these two badass women coming together (ahem) can only be a bad thing for their enemies.

HBO

This has fully got me in the mood for Game of Thrones’ return, what a trailer.

Until then, I guess all we can do is rewatch season six for the fiftieth time and bide our time better than Littlefinger waiting for his chance with Sansa.
