Boxer Amir Khan put a dramatic stop to the season’s first Bushtucker Trial because he pulled a snake out during the challenge – yet people are casting doubt after an old photo emerged…

During Monday evening’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Khan, along with Made In Chelsea’s Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo were voted to take part in the trial to try and win meals for camp.

Toff was locked in a chamber full of various bugs as the boxer attempted to find the key to unlock it by putting his arm through a series of holes – which had creatures in them.

After accidentally grabbing a snake and pulling it through one of the holes, he freaked out and screamed:

I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of HERE!

…In turn losing the camp their dinner.

He explained to Toff, as well as hosts Ant and Dec how he’s afraid of snakes.

However, fans were quick to circulate an old photo of Khan, looking comfortable, standing in a club next to a girl holding a much larger snake than the one he pulled out.

Here’s the photo:

Twitter went off as people poked fun at Khan and also how he’d exaggerated the whole experience to his camp mates:

Reacting as he did has probably set him up for more misfortune as viewers get to vote who completes the trials – and we all know it’s likely to be him.

Famously, TV presenter and nutritionist Gillian McKeith, was voted to complete seven Bushtucker Trials in a row, by the British public because of her reactions and fear of the tasks.

She ‘fainted’ during a live broadcast and refused the seventh trial, telling Ant and Dec:

It’s just too much, having things all over my head and my body and trying to move the thing all at the same time.

I feel exhausted, just mental exhaustion.

There are now calls for Khan to receive the same treatment, as viewers get to vote for the contestant to complete the tasks.
