Ant and Dec confirmed the news TV fanatics were probably waiting for – the return of their popular show Saturday Night Takeaway.
They appeared to break the good news during last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! which they also present.
During a section of the show which Ant moaned about the camp mates having so many different T-shirts to wear as part of this year’s challenges and he asked Dec who was ‘paying for it all’.
Dec told Ant:
You! Has nobody told you?
You’ve given up your fee for the next series of Saturday Night Takeaway.
To which Ant replied:
So I’m doing the whole next series of Saturday Night Takeaway for free?
Dec then said:
Don’t be daft. You’re getting one of these T-shirts with Kez’s face on.
A member of the crew then threw Ant a T-shirt with politician and contestant Kez Dugdale’s face on it.

During the show, there was a parody of Saturday Night Takeaway, which, and it goes without saying, went down incredibly well with fans of both shows:
Saturday Night Takeaway won the BAFTA for Entertainment Programme, and Ant and Dec won Entertainment Performance for their role in the show in both 2014 and 2015.
In 2005, ITV aired a programme listing the 50 best shows in the channel’s 50 years on air. Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway came second, beaten only by Coronation Street.
If the next series goes ahead, it will be the show’s 15th season.
Ant’s return to TV got off to a flying start when almost immediately he and Dec made light of his stint in rehab on the first episode of I’m A Celeb.
After the Geordie duo did their usual ‘Get Me Out Of Heeeeeeeeeeere’ scream on the bridge, they moved over to the studio with the TV where Dec happily began ‘reading off the autocue’.
He said:
Welcome back to I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here. Me and the gorgeous Holly Willoughby…
Before being cut off by Ant who wondered why he’d said that.
Dec went on to check his earpiece and he told people he was reading off the old autocue because he ‘thought Ant wasn’t going to make it’.
Ant quickly set the record straight and said ‘as if he wasn’t going to be here’ before embracing Dec in a hug.
Ant reportedly became addicted to prescription painkillers while suffering chronic pain in his right knee and his stint in rehab and subsequent recovery almost meant he’d be missing the show.
But after months of rumours about whether or not he’d be on the show, Ant was able to return to Australia to begin filming, much to the delight of fans of the show.
It’s certainly good to see Ant in top form.
A new series of Saturday Night Takeaway would be excellent, thanks.
