Avengers: Endgame Ticket Sales Triples Infinity War

To say Marvel fans have been excited by Avengers: Endgame tickets going on sale might be somewhat of an understatement.

The infectious social media buzz this morning (April 2), was reminiscent of a worldwide queue for the most thrilling roller coaster on the planet.

And now – before a single cinema screening has taken place – Endgame has already began obliterating records, without so much as a finger click…

As reported by Deadline, Endgame has set a new – very, very impressive – record with Atom Tickets in terms of ticket sales.

In the first hour of pre-sales, the upcoming superhero movie sold three times more tickets on Atom than its predecessor Avengers: Infinity War did. Endgame pre-sale tickets also raced ahead of Atom’s first hour sales for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

And it isn’t just Atom reporting astronomical sales, with Deadline reporting Fandango has also had strong sales.

This – perhaps unsurprising – stampede for tickets has been reflected in the crashing of sites, with would-be ticket buyers reporting error codes on sites such as AMC, Atom and Fandango.

Frenzied Marvel fans have taken to Twitter to share their respective Willy Wonka-esque quests of trying to get Avengers: Endgame tickets.

And it would appear getting hold of the infinity stones themselves would have proven to be less of a hassle.

YouTuber Daniel Howell tweeted:

Successfully booking tickets for endgame was more challenging than the avengers actually defeating Thanos.

Another weary adventurer tweeted:

Man good luck to everyone still trying to get their Endgame tickets.

Odeon – who announced the ticket sale earlier today – have given the following movie synopsis on their website:

Adrift in space with no food or water, Tony Stark sends a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen supply starts to dwindle.

Meanwhile, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner — must figure out a way to bring back their vanquished allies for an epic showdown with Thanos — the evil demigod who decimated the planet and the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War achieved overwhelming figures at the box office in 2018, with over $257 million made during its opening weekend.

No doubt Avengers: Endgame will also enjoy comparable – if not greater – success if these staggering figures are anything to go by.
