Group chats can be a minefield at the best of times.

There’s always someone who provides the top lols with some delicious memes, there are others who use the chats just to spill the tea, some individuals get mercilessly ignored while others just ignore the chat altogether, despite being an integral part of it.

You’d be forgiven for thinking the saviours of the universe had a better way to communicate with each other. But no, they have a group chat going on just like the rest of us. I know, weird.

A few of the Avengers – Paul Rudd, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth, aka Ant-Man, Black Widow and Thor, respectively – sat down with BBC Radio 1 Xtra to chat about the group chat, and the incriminating messages held within. Great content.

It starts with Johansson asking Hemsworth why he’s so hard to get hold of.

As should probably be expected, the Aussie dreamboat plays it cool and elusive with his phone numbers:

That’s the problem – I have an Australian number and an American number, and the group chat is taking place on the American number.

So if I fly into America I’m like ‘Oh cool, 40 days worth of messages.

Getting to the heart of the matter, Johansson asks: ‘Why don’t you get a global plan, what is wrong with you?’ I know, top goss right there.

Digging a bit deeper though, our heroes are asked who is most likely to drop rude videos in the chat. To which the immediate answer is: ‘Renner’. (That’s Jeremy Renner, aka Hawkeye, to the rest of us).

As Hemsworth says:

The guy’s a sicko.

Though Johansson adds:

[Chris] Evans is pretty bad too.

Dismissing the chat altogether (though probably because he secretly loves the tea), Hemsworth adds:

I actually don’t want to be in the group chat for the incriminating things that hit off.

Johansson agrees, saying:

Yeah that’s smart, if you’re running for public office you cannot be on this group chat

Perhaps they need Thanos to help wipe out half the messages.

Paul Rudd stays disappointingly quiet as the others discuss this hot topic, but perhaps he’s got something else on his mind.

Perhaps it’s better to not be part of any group chats then, like me. Which is because I definitely don’t want to be part of any group chats and definitely not because I haven’t been included in any.
