Battle Of Winterfell Teaser Photo Convinces Game Of Thrones Fans Littlefinger Is Still Alive

Podrick Payne’s poignant rendition of Jenny’s Song gave viewers the haunting vision of Jenny of Oldstones dancing with her ghosts.

This beautiful yet sombre song gave viewers the space to consider those within the Game of Thrones universe who have passed on, as well as those whose endings loom near.

With the Army of the Dead closing in on Winterfell – and the crypts as of yet regarded to be a calm sanctuary – the Stark homestead is rife with the presence of death.

And could it be that one of those ‘who’d been gone for so very long’ is actually alive and well and preparing to make their slippery return?

True to form, Game of Thrones have been scrutinizing teaser photographs of season eight, episode three for any significant details.

And one teaser pic, obtained by Entertainment Weekly, has had people zooming in and shrieking with a mixture of shock, disbelief and a strong dose of ‘they wouldn’t bloody dare!’

At first glance, the photograph looks fairly innocuous. It shows a seated Sansa Stark, eyes wet as if she has – understandably – been crying at the prospect of her few remaining relatives becoming zombified.

But it is the background of this pic which has caused people to do a double take, with what appears to be a skulking face watching the Lady of the North intently.

The photograph is pretty dark and shadowy (classic GOT) and the supposed face quite difficult to pick out.

However – and once you notice it, you can’t unsee it – loads of people think they are looking into the face of Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish, who died by Sansa’s orders in season seven.

I honestly wouldn’t put it past Littlefinger to sneak away from the clutches of death, deceiving his would-be murderers before hiding in their home for a considerable period of time.

However, surely this would be a bit of an unnecessary distraction at this point in the game? Not to mention taking away from a very satisfying and rarely tasted slice of justice for the Stark family.

You can now – finally – watch the new season of Game of Thrones on HBO or Sky Atlantic.
