While the hilarious, extended special – My Furry Valentine – has tide us over somewhat since the end of season two, fans are still gagging for more Big Mouth.
Thankfully, like Maury’s bag of furry dicks, the show’s creators can’t keep much to themselves, revealing season three is ebbing ever closer.
The crude but brilliant animated series is returning to Netflix this autumn, after the streaming service swiftly renewed the show for another season following the success of the first two.
You can watch the Big Mouth season three teaser here:
Of course, the return of Big Mouth means the return of everyone’s favourite Hormone Monsters, Maury and Connie, voiced by Nick Kroll and Maya Rudolph respectively. Kroll, who created the show alongside Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett, also voices a host of other characters, including Nick Birch, Coach Steve, Lola, Rick the Hormone Monster, Ladybug, the Bad Mitten and many, many more.
Other returning stars and characters include John Mulaney as Andrew Glouberman, Jessi Klein as Jessi, Jenny Slate as Missy, Jason Mantzoukas as Jay, Jordan Peele as the ghost of Duke Ellington, and Fred Armisen as Nick’s dad Elliot.

Speaking about season three earlier this year, Andrew Goldberg told Metro:
We’re deep into animation right now. We do some rewriting at the art and animation phase, but the show is mostly pretty set. We’re still fixing things that don’t quite work or changing things that don’t quite look right, but we’re into it.
When we first started, we were constantly worrying about whether we would have enough stories to tell. But so far, rather than scraping for ideas, we’re finding that we can’t do everything we want to do in a season. Some things we have to save for a season 4 for beyond.
Did he just mention season four?!
Big Mouth was nominated for Best Show at this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards. Sadly, it lost out to Game of Thrones, but we did get this iconic moment between Nick Kroll and Trixie Mattel, which is a show that needs to happen.

It’s not just great characters and voices Big Mouth is known for though, as its songs have become a standout feature of the series too. From Everybody Bleeds to Totally Gay to Sex On A Lady, the songs are always a highlight of any episode.
Good news then, as composer Mark Rivers has confirmed he’s also returning for season three, and has some bigger and better tunes up his sleeve for it.
Rivers revealed he’s written an ’80s metal song’ for the season already, sung by none other than Maury the Hormone Monster.
He told Yahoo:
It’s pretty funny, and it’s a rocker, as you might guess. It’s an ‘80s metal song called “Anything Goes In Florida.” There’s an episode that is set in Florida, and all kinds of crazy sh*t happens—because it’s Florida. So, Maury sings about it, and his voice sounds a bit like Lemmy Kilmister from Motörhead.
There are a handful of other songs I’m pretty excited about. Martin Short has a guest appearance in Season 3, and he sings a patter song about the spectrum of sexuality, which came out really great. Because he’s Martin Short; of course it did.
Dinner is served.
