With just two days to go until potentially the most anticipated movie in cinematic history hits our screens, we are officially in the Endgame.
As suspense grows as we wait to find out what fate awaits our favourite heroes, Marvel fans can barely wait those extra couple of days to watch the film in all its glory.
Some didn’t have to wait though, as the cast, crew, a select few fans and journalists all headed to the world premiere of Avengers: Endgame last night (April 22) at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
You can watch the trailer for the film here:
Everyone in attendance had to hand over any mobile phones or smartwatches before the film began (no spoilers thank you), ensuring a truly immersive experience and allowing viewers to watch the film without any annoying distractions.
Obviously, it was an emotional evening for all involved, particularly the cast as they watched the ‘grand conclusion‘ of 22 films alongside dedicated fans.
Who can blame them? For years they have worked alongside each other to deliver the best possible content for fans, and now it’s all coming to an end. It truly is the end of an incredible era.
Perhaps nobody was as emotional as Chris Evans though, who revealed after the viewing he cried a grand total of six times as he watched the film.
He said, as per Variety:
I have a lot of my friends and family here tonight, and a lot of them are right up here. We have this bond that transcends what we do for a living… I cried like six times [tonight].
Right, I’m not being funny but how emotional is it going to be?! I won’t be able to handle it if I’m going to have to take tissues into the screening instead of popcorn.
Other members of the cast also expressed how emotional they were, with Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) saying she was overcome by the ‘beautiful, open-minded people’ she got to work with.
Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner/The Hulk, gushed about how much love he has for his fellow Avengers, saying:
It’s been an amazing ride and so moving, I love all of you guys so much. It’s been the trip of a lifetime, and what you did up there tonight was so beautiful. My brother and sister Avengers, I love you so much.
Well, if all of that isn’t enough to get you excited then I’m sorry to break it to you, but there’s no hope for you.
Avengers: Endgame will be released in the UK on April 25, 2019. Eek!
