Okay, it’s been more than a month since Avengers: Endgame hit cinema screens and I bet you thought you’d heard the last of it.

You no doubt think you know everything there is to know about the record-breaking film and have read every article possible about the ins and outs of the storyline and the cast – but I’m here to tell you that you’re wrong.

That’s because I’m back with another Avengers-related article, this time with the intention of telling you all about Chris Hemsworth and how he isn’t quite ready to give up Thor’s hammer just yet.

Yep, Hemsworth has admitted he’d be keen to continue playing the God of Thunder, a role he’s been bringing to life for eight years.

In an interview with Variety, the Hollywood actor noted that although he doesn’t know what the plan is for Thor, he’d love to keep going with it.

Hemsworth explained:

I’d still love to do more, to be honest. And I don’t know what the plan is. I feel like we’ve opened up such a different character. I feel more energised for the possibility of where it could go.

But I’ll use that in other places and other characters if it’s the end here.

Hemsworth also opened up about Thor’s character arc in Endgame, saying he fought to keep the extra weight which the God of Thunder had put on as a result of the guilt he felt at not being able to prevent Thanos’ fatal snap.

Originally, the Australian actor revealed, Thor was supposed to revert to his old, god-like self in the middle of the film. However, he fought to keep him on the heavier side.

Hemsworth explained:

I enjoyed that version of Thor. It was so different than any other way I played the character. And then it took on a life of its own.

The actor also described how he felt like ‘an old grandpa’ when wearing his fat suit, which took three hours in hair and makeup. The prosthetic suit itself weighed around 90 pounds, with Hemsworth describing the process as ‘exhausting’.

However, he went on to say that he enjoyed that part of it, saying people kept going up to him and cuddling him ‘like a big bear’ or rubbing his belly as though he was pregnant.

Hemsworth continued:

You get a lot of affection. I felt like an old man, an old grandpa, with a bunch of kids around. And then you get sick of it when people come up and grab your belly. ‘Don’t grab me like that!’

We last saw Thor leaving with the Guardians of the Galaxy for a new adventure, but as of yet it’s unclear if Hemsworth will be reprising his role as Thor in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

Here’s hoping he will be!
