With a little over three weeks to go until Avengers: Endgame hits cinema screens, you’d better believe die-hard fans are re-watching every single Marvel movie in preparation for its climatic end.

And if they’re not, they’re clearly not a true fan. Three weeks is plenty of time to watch all 21 Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies – it’s literally one film a day which is beyond do-able.

If you’re a mega-fan though (which, let’s face it, most Marvel fans are), you might be considering re-watching them in a slightly less spread-out fashion and just getting it over with in one go in a mega movie marathon.

Sounds good, right? Just sit back and relax, popcorn in hand, while you watch film after film and let the excitement build for Endgame. Until you realise your popcorn will have disappeared halfway through the first movie and you still have another 56 hours to go.

But this prospect apparently sounds exciting to some people, who are fully prepared to say goodbye to the outside world and basic hygiene practices for a full two-and-a-half days, as one cinema chain in America hosts a giant 22-film Marvel movie marathon.

As reported by Slash Film, AMC Theaters is giving fans the opportunity to spend a grand total of 59 hours and 7 minutes in one room, watching every MCU movie back-to-back and ending with Avengers:Endgame. Yikes.

The marathon will start on April 23 with 2008’s Iron Man and will run all the way to Captain Marvel, which was released only last month. Viewers will then have the opportunity to watch Endgame a whole hour before anyone else does.

As per AMC’s website:

At AMC Lincoln Square 13 (New York), AMC River East 21 (Illinois) and AMC Metreon 16 (California), fans will have the opportunity to experience a 22-title Marvel movie marathon unlike any other.

Starting Tuesday, April 23, see 22 films from the Marvel Cinematic Universe all leading up to MARVEL STUDIOS AVENGERS: ENDGAME. This premium event will include, marathon only collectibles, and a special concession offer.

Plus, AVENGERS: ENDGAME will start at 5pm local time, one hour earlier than regular public show times.

I really hope there’s going to be allotted time slots for naps, otherwise how on earth is anyone going to stay awake for that long?!

They won’t be able to hold their heads up for long enough to watch the start of Endgame, never mind stay awake for the entire three hours it lasts.

I’d get stocking up on Red Bull…

Avengers: Endgame hits cinemas in the US on April 26, 2019.
