Is Britain about to get it’s very own Marvel superhero? Let’s hope his powers are more impressive that queuing patiently and regaling his enemies with anecdotes about last week’s appalling weather.
A newly leaked image of a patriotic skin-tight outfit, which looks like something an Olympic skier might wear, has allegedly been designed for a brand new television series featuring the home grown hero Captain Britain, The Independent reports.
The character, real name Brian Braddock, was intended to be the British equivalent of Captain America. Braddock was endowed with extraordinary powers, including superhuman strength and flight, by the legendary wizard Merlyn (because comics) transforming him into Captain Britain and he was charged with upholding the laws of Britain.

It would be a bit of a leap to make TV show, the character hasn’t had his own book in decades and was never exactly popular.
However Marvel’s proven it’s not afraid to put its faith in lesser known characters, and Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Agents of SHIELD have all gone on to do extremely well on the small screen.
The image was tweeted by Ciara McAvoy, an award-winning film poster designer whose body of work includes X-Men: First Class and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.
@_Wobs It might take a while before the announcement (either early 2017 or late 2016) They're making a sizzle reel and it's gonna be awesome

Unfortunately there are now conflicting reports from Screencrush who claim that ‘well-placed sources’ have said that the rumour is ‘not true’.
Regardless of the rumours veracity comic fans have already begun debating which actor should don the spandex, with both Daniel Craig or Tom Hiddleston (isn’t he Loki?) being popular choices to play the mystical captain.
So who knows this green and pleasant land could soon have its own super heroic captain…
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
