People have been making the link between the creepy red balloons and the upcoming release of the highly anticipated film, It.
Based on the first half of Stephen King’s 1986 novel, the film follows The Losers’ Club – a group of outcasts who must face the terrifying clown Pennywise – as they attempt to track down children who are disappearing from their town.
A red balloon means that Pennywise is close by, so be careful if you see one…

Pressure is on for director Andy Muschietti as fans love the first adaptation of the novel, a two-part feature-length television show that starred Tim Curry as Pennywise.
However, critics are loving the new horror film calling it ‘totally terrifying’ and ‘scary as shit’.
#ItMovie was spooktacular. Great cast, surprisingly funny, and genuinely unnerving scares. You'll still be freaked out when you get home. ? pic.twitter.com/n5EQpbk53N

#ITMovie: a carnival funhouse of a film; loud, scary, funny. And best of all: it has heart. #It

I love the #ITMovie. It's everything I wanted. Scary as shit, Skarsgard nails Pennywise, and the Losers are perfection.

We can’t wait to see the film even though we know it’s guaranteed to give us nightmares.
Get ready to hide behind a coat when It is released in UK and US cinemas on September 8.
