As we approach the final ever episode of the final ever season of the Game of Thrones, fans are looking everywhere for clues to find out how it’s all going to end, and who’s going to end up on the Iron Throne.

As one of the most highly anticipated, action-packed and visually stunning programmes ever, it should come as no surprise that the team behind Game of Thrones have also produced a documentary about the making of the final season.

It has been, it’s fair to say, the most tense season ever. With battles that lasted longer than we’ve ever seen, more White Walkers you could shake a stick at, and enough dragon riding to give you some major chafing.

You can watch the trailer for the next, and final, episode here:

And as much as we love the series, the visual effects and the epic battle sequences, we want to peek behind the curtain and see how it’s all made too.

Luckily for us, director Jeanie Finlay is dropping a Game of Thrones: The Last Watch on May 26, which documents the making of the final season.

The trailer has already been released, and features some emotional, exhausted looking cast and crew members – and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it clue for the last episode.

Check it out:

Did you spot it?

Among the hoards of extras, the fields of snow and the beautiful scenery that would eventually be scorched to ashes by dragon fire, we heard one of the directors shout: ‘That was Emilia’s last shot on Game of Thrones.’

Obviously it’s an emotional time, and the trailer then cuts straight to someone drying their eyes. But we’ve no time for emotions right now, we need to find out who’s going to sit on the Iron Throne!

So what can we learn from Emilia’s last shot? Well, apart from the green screen, the crew members and boom operators standing around, it looks like Dany is walking off a snowy set, perhaps the side of a mountain in Winterfell? Or further north?

Does this mean her final scene is not in King’s Landing? There doesn’t seem to be any other actors around, so we can assume she’s on her own. And there’s definitely no sign of her massive dragon, wonder where that guy is. It’s not like that thing is added in post production is it…

Or perhaps Jon has taken back to Winterfell, they’ve made up and they’re going to live happily ever after. Emilia doesn’t look particularly bloody, like she’s walking away from a death scene… Or is that being optimistic?

The Last Watch, a two-hour documentary, premieres May 26 on HBO.
