Rick and Morty co-creator has taken to Twitter to explain why the wubba lubba dub dub season three of the massively popular cartoon still hasn’t been released.
Despite fans of the show getting a sneak peak at episode one, we still don’t know when the full series is being released and neither Harmon or Roiland have been able to provide any time frame for the show’s return.
This has led some people claiming that the show has been cancelled (It hasn’t) or that there were creative differences between him and the show’s other creator Justin Roiland.
These bizarre rumours keep cropping up time and time again, despite both Harmon and Roiland explaining that the reason the show’s taking so long is because the show took so long to write as they wanted to maintain the show’s quality.
So to put an end to people’s baseless speculation Harmon has once again explained why the show isn’t here yet, taking the time to acknowledge his own contentious reputation may be to blame for the rumours.
He wrote:
Justin and I are very regretful about the season taking way too long. I want to explain “what happened” because it’s way less dramatic than you might ever imagine.
Post internet TV audiences are so used to finding out there’s an intriguing/confusing/intense reason 4 delays And C***st knows if you’ve ever seen MY name on the internet I’ve only got myself to blame for an association with intrigue/confusion/drama but the truth in this case is so very boring…the reason S3 took long is because it took long to write, because it was S3 of a show that we were scared to make worse than S2 or S1.
Harmon also asked the more hysterical fans to stop spreading rumours that h and Justin Roiland had been fighting.
He said:
As I speak, more articles are coming out about me and Justin fighting. Because it’s a less boring reason for a season to take long, and because I’m Dan Harmon, so it’s a smart f**king first guess, it just happens to be hilariously not true even in the slightest.
If you do know of me at all you know that if Justin and I HAD ever fought, not only wouldn’t we be able to keep it secret, we’d be all too eager to share it with you. Also, that’s not what would make the show slow down! Fighting probably would have been a good idea, it might have sped us up.
So there we go, to clarify the show’s taking so long because they don’t want it to suck and there’s no bad blood between Roiland and Harmon.
Now if I may paraphrase the wonderful Neil Gaiman, please stop asking Harmon and Roiland when the show’s coming back, they ae not your bitch, in this dimension or any other.
