David Cassidy’s daughter has paid tribute to her late father in an emotional and heartwarming post.
The legendary singer and actor passed away at the age of 67 after being admitted to hospital with organ failure.
The former pop star had been with diagnosed with dementia less than 12 months earlier.

Katie, Cassidy’s daughter, has now broken her silence following her father’s death, taking to Twitter on Friday.
She started her post by thanking all those who reached out and offered support to the family over the past few weeks.
She then went on to reveal her father’s poignant and emotional last words.
Words cant express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time. My father’s last words were “So much wasted time”. This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute….thank you.

Cassidy had been admitted to a hospital in Fort Lauderdale earlier this week after suffering from pain.
He was in desperate need of a liver transplant – earlier this year it was reported the singer had dementia and would stop touring so he could enjoy his life.
In an interview with People magazine, Cassidy revealed his illness saying:
I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming. I want to focus on what I am, who I am and how I’ve been, without any distractions.
I want to love. I want to enjoy life.

He also admitted he saw his mother battle with the same disease, until her death at the age of 89, saying:
In the end, the only way I knew she recognised me is with one single tear that would drop from her eye every time I walked into the room. I feared I would end up that way.
David Cassidy was best known for playing Keith Partridge in the hit 1970s musical sitcom The Partridge Family.
Following the show’s success, Cassidy became a heartthrob and went on to have a hugely successful solo career as a singer and pop idol.

The past decade had been a roller-coaster of personal highs and lows for the star.
He struggled with alcohol addiction and between 2010 and 2014, Cassidy was arrested three times for drunk driving – he was sent to rehab as a part of his last sentence.
In 2015 Cassidy filed for bankruptcy – he was charged for driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of a car accident.
Our thoughts are with all of David’s friends and family.
