Empire will be no more after season six airs, it has been confirmed.

The hip-hop drama, following the Lyon family, led by stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, will officially end its run on Fox after the upcoming season, which will air this autumn.

The news comes just two weeks after Fox renewed Empire for a sixth season, amid uncertainty over Jussie Smollett’s future on the show.

As reported by Entertainment Tonight, the final season will be full of drama, with more ‘shocking surprises and jaw-dropping moments’.
