As reported by Distractify, a long rumoured fan theory is also primed to be confirmed as a result too.

So following the close of season six we know Daenerys and her dragons are on their way across the narrow sea heading for Westeros – and they aren’t going for a brief winter break.

No, the mother of dragons, as Tyrion put it, has entered the great game and is ready to launch her bid for the Seven Kingdoms.

She has three beasts ready to rain fire on all who stand in her way, but at present only one dragon rider – herself.

The ‘three-headed dragon’ theory goes that Daenerys will be joined in riding the dragons by Jon Snow and Tyrion.

This is definitely possible after the confirmation that the bastard of Winterfell is actually the son of Lyanna Stark – not Ned – and Rhaegar Targaryen.

So if the news is broken to Jon or his half-sister, one more dragon will have a rider.

Could Tyrion complete the set?

We’ve already seen that new Hand of the Queen has a rapport with the mythical creatures, but perhaps that is because he too is half Targaryen.

Tywin Lannister famously resented the child whose birth led to the death of his wife Joanna – but could that also be because Tyrion is the son of Aerys II Targaryen, who lusted after the wife of his hand.

If true this could explain why Tyrion is so obsessed with the study of dragons – it is in his blood.

Tyrion, the man who saved King’s Landing with wildfire, could could claim it for Daenerys with dragon fire.

Cersei’s days as Queen already look numbered…
