Fans love Holly Willoughby’s Instagram page for daily nuggets of flattering fashion inspiration.
The loveable TV presenter often shows off her outfit before stepping out onto the set of This Morning, regularly sporting items from high street stores such as Topshop and Marks & Spencer.
Fans love the accessibility of Holly’s gorgeous style; often commenting to praise her pretty tops and cute boots. It can often feel like taking advice from a particularly smiley friend.
However, every now and then she drops a right clanger…
The 36-year-old host recently posted a pic of herself looking flawless in a white, rainbow patterned tracksuit, with the following caption:
There is no end to this ? loving …. backstage at @dancingonice #rehearsals @madeleinethompsoncashmere #hwstyle
The daytime telly beauty was rocking the casual look, but fans absolutely lost it when they saw the price.
The outfit – which Holly was casually wearing backstage at Dancing On Ice like it was no big deal – cost a purse wounding £560.
The tracksuit was designed by British knitwear designer Madeleine Thompson and is made from buttery soft 100% Italian cashmere. According to the net-a-porter description, this outfit is ‘perfect for relaxing at home or on long-haul flights.’
Now, I have heard tell of celebs throwing such dosh around on red carpet dresses, but these appear to be Holly’s chilling out togs. I mean, does she lounge around eating takeout in these clothes?!
Fans just couldn’t stop their eyebrows rising up past their hairlines after clocking the wallet-singing price tag.
One follower pleaded:
I love you Holly… but can you wear some more affordable stuff so that is mere mortals can copy! Love rainbows.
Another wistfully lamented:
I know i bloody love them but apparently they’re even more expensive than the last ones!
This isn’t the first time Holly’s loungewear has ironically led to fans feeling uncomfortable.
Mere weeks ago she posted a snap of her slouching around in a rainbow patterned jumper and leggings from Wyse London.
Again, at a sky high £220 for the jumper alone, many of her followers would have to find an actual pot of gold at the end of a rainbow to copy the look.
Again, people were gobsmacked by the price. One person posted, ‘Love this outfit! But £220 just for the jumper is waayyyyy out of my price range’ while another shrieked, ‘Omg that outfit is £440 are you kidding me.’
However, there were people coming rushing to Holly’s defence; pointing out how she works hard and it is her decision what she chooses to wear.
One loyal fan fumed:
My GOD, why on earth would you waste 2 minutes of your life to criticise a woman for the outfit she wears?
So what if it is a little pricey, Holly works hard for her money and she deserves to be able to spend it!
If she didn’t tag the clothes company you would freak out and when she does you all complain.
She hasn’t hurt anyone or done any harm to ANYTHING, get a grip on reality if you think the price tag of her clothes is something worthy of making yourself an online troll.
How much would you spend on a pair of trackies?
