The first trailer for season six of Brooklyn Nine-Nine just hit the web and we’re more excited than Amy on the day they deliver the new binders!
The teaser, which is over way too quick for our liking (title of our sex tape), picks up right where season five left us, with Captain Raymond Holt revealing whether he’s become new NYPD commissioner.
Unfortunately, we don’t get to hear what Holt told the squad because Jake interrupts the Captain with some pretty toight dance moves.
Check out the teaser here…
Judging by rest of the squad’s faces though they’ve just heard something shocking, could it be that Holt didn’t get the job? Or maybe he did and will have to leave the Nine-Nine again.
Still according to the show’s co-creator Dan Goor, if you’re really a fan of the show you should know or at least that’s what he told Entertainment Weekly when asked about the cliffhanger.
He said:
The answer is there. If you truly know Holt, you’ll know.
Still no word on when Brooklyn Nine-Nine will return to our screens but it could be worse, there was a brief period where it looked like the show had been cancelled by Fox.
Thankfully the fine people over an NBC answered the 991 call and saved the show at the last minute, commissioning 13 new episodes of the cult comedy.
Speaking at the time Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment said:
Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home.
We’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up.
Since then NBC has ordered an additional five episodes bringing the total number of episodes for the sixth season up to 18, which while still four less than usual is better than nothing.
Unfortunately, not all the cast are coming back when Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns. Chelsea Peretti, who plays Holt’s eccentric dance-obsessed assistant won’t be back for the full season.
She wrote on Twitter:
B99 fans. Hiiiiiiiiiiii. Chelsea Peretti, here. I won’t be doing a full season of Brooklyn Nine Nine in Season 6. But that doesn’t mean I won’t ever be back, winky face emoji, heart emoji. I want to thank you for the hours you spent watching Gina be Gina:
In a statement, Dan Goor paid tribute to Chelsea praising her amazing, hilarious and unique portrayal of Gina Linetti, adding he couldn’t wait to see what she did next.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine doesn’t have an air date yet but as soon as we know it, you’ll know it!
