Game Of Thrones Actor’s Deleted Instagram Post Hints At Huge Character Return

Seven Hells, send a raven, even though we’re still a year away from the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones information about what’s in store is still coming in.

Despite HBO (and showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss) wanting to keep a tight lid on information regarding the highly anticipated season finale from leaking the internet still finds a way to do it.

However, it looks like the most recent leak came from one of their own, as a character who we thought was long dead might be coming back. If you like the idea of being surprised when watching your favourite TV show this might be the best time to warn you we are entering potential ‘spoiler alert territory’.  So if you want to remain blissfully ignorant as to what might be happening in season 8 read this instead.

Wilf Scolding, who appeared in one of Brandon Stark’s flashbacks as Prince Rhaeghar, took a selfie outside the Europa Hotel in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Mashable reports.

As many hardcore fans know the city is close to the locations where they shoot Winterfell and the Riverlands.

Which begs the question: ‘What in the world was Scolding doing in Belfast?’ All clues point to him returning to the show in some capacity, possibly a flashback.

However, before hundreds of GoT fanboys (and girls) could ask him why he was in the city, he quickly deleted the post – most likely on orders from HBO, Benioff and Weiss.

I have my own theory though. So in the current Thrones timeline Rhaeger is already dead, he was killed in battle by the Usurper, King Robert Baratheon I at the Ruby Ford in the Riverlands.

It’s possible, at some point in season eight, Bran has one of his visions of the past and sees the fateful battle between Rhaeger and Robert.

For those who haven’t been paying attention, or missed the obvious clues, Rhaeger is the father of a certain bastard in Winterfell. If it’s taken you until season eight to figure who his son is out you should be ashamed of yourself R+L=J, duh.

With season eight set to bring a close to one of the best TV shows of our generation, HBO wants to make sure it will be an ending to remember. To do this they’re pulling out all the stops and sparing no expense or detail.

According to assistant director Jonathan Quinlan, who has worked on 20 episodes of the popular show so far, the production crew have wrapped up a monumental battle which took 55 consecutive nights to shoot.

While it may seem standard practice for blockbuster films with a huge budget, for a TV show it’s almost unprecedented.  It’s sure to make the Battle of Blackwater and the Battle of the Bastards look minuscule in comparison.

While we can’t wait to see how the epic battle will the turn out we, unfortunately, have to wait until next year… and it is killing us! Suppose there are worse ways to go.

Game of Thrones is set to return early next year.
