Game Of Thrones Cast Are Just As Disappointed With This Series As You AreCBS

With just one episode to go until the very last instalment of Game of Thrones, most of what’s circulating on social media seems to be that the writers haven’t quite hit the nail on the head.

Don’t get us wrong, recent episodes have had some incredible moments, like Tyrion’s emotional goodbye with Jaime, or the drunken get together the night before the Battle of Winterfell, but those moments have been diluted by rushed plots, endless battle scenes and… oh yeah, the coffee cup.

The general consensus is that Jaime’s romance with Brienne wasn’t given the chance to play out, and that potentially the series’ biggest reveal, Daenerys’s heel-turn as the Mad Queen, was – to put it bluntly – completely rushed and inadequate.

It goes without saying that expectations were exceptionally high, and of course the writers were never going to please everyone, but by this stage, a lot of fans are just disappointed. Now it seems like the cast are right here with us.

A carefully crafted three minute YouTube video has emerged, showing the Game of Thrones cast painfully trying to feign excitement about the final season, and completely and utterly failing.

Yep, some of the greatest actors of our generation can’t even pretend to be enthusiastic about the finale, and it’s painfully brilliant.

Emilia Clarke can be seen excruciatingly grimacing when Entertainment Tonight asked her if she’s happy with how things ended.

In fact, she pulled the exact same facial expression as we did when Bran’s battle with the Night King mostly consisted of him sitting under a tree in a state of trance.

And that’s before we get to Peter Dinklage, who can’t even harness an ounce of enthusiasm when he talks about the finale ending. Oh, we feel you, Peter.

Are they messing around or were the series of clips taken out of context? Perhaps, but they sure do seem a lot more damning when added together, particularly given the general consensus of disappointment.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister, admitted his character’s love affair with Brienne of Tarth felt rushed to say the least.

He told Vanity Fair:

We’re used to having a whole season to get to a point. Now suddenly, a lot of things happen very quickly.

It’s only fair to reserve judgement until the show’s conclusion, because perhaps David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will pull it out the bag with an incredible finale. They’ve certainly done it before. Fingers crossed.
