Game Of Thrones Creators Hint The White Walkers Aren’t Finished

Warning: Contains Spoilers

It’s been nearly a week since the latest episode of Game of Thrones, and boy has it been a long week.

Seven days is just too long to have to wait to find out what happens next. Come on, 168 hours?! How can we be expected to sit patiently and wait that long?

If you still haven’t watched The Long Night, first of all: why? And secondly, this is your five second warning that there will be major spoilers littered throughout this article.

The episode culminated with Arya becoming the hero of the hour/year/century when she (spoiler alert) stabbed the Night King and subsequently set off a chain reaction that wiped out his entire army of White Walkers.

Basically, she was a badass bitch and earned the respect of pretty much everyone watching. And if you don’t agree with me, you’re wrong.

But now the show’s creators have hinted that perhaps this wasn’t the last time we’ll see the White Walkers, leading many to question what this could mean for the living and for those who died in the Battle of Winterfell.

It was on Jimmy Kimmel Live that David Benioff and DB Weiss made the suggestion:

When asked by Jimmy whether the White Walkers were permanently gone, Benioff and Weiss wouldn’t (or couldn’t) commit to an answer.

Instead, they coyly replied:

We’re not gonna answer that.

What does this all mean?! Will the Army of the Dead return?! Will they somehow come back and defeat the Army of the Living?! Will they take over the world?!

Obviously, the creators’ answer doesn’t necessarily mean the White Walkers will return (I’m pretty sure they’d get sacked if they gave away spoilers at this stage in the game), but it certainly leaves the door open for them to do just that.

With only a few episodes to go until the final episode ever of Game of Thrones (sob), this doesn’t leave a lot of time for us to get an answer so I guess we’ll just have to wait with bated breath until then.

Kimmel also asked Benioff and Weiss a couple of other questions, including whether Bran knew Arya was going to kill the Night King. To which they simply replied, ‘possibly’.

Well I don’t know about you guys but this has only made me 10x more excited for tomorrow’s episode. Hurry up please.

You can now watch the new season of Game of Thrones on HBO or Sky Atlantic.
