Game Of Thrones Leak Reveals True Fate Of Jaime Lannister

Spoiler alert!

If you watched Game of Thrones season 7’s fourth episode ‘The Spoils of War‘, either via the leak or on the legal HBO broadcast, the cliffhanger may have left you with a few unanswered questions.

Be warned though, if you aren’t up to date, you’ll probably want to stop reading now…. unless you really, REALLY want to find out what happens.

The episode was a visual masterpiece, with the battle dominated by Drogon, Jaime charging at Daenerys (and the temporarily downed dragon), only to have a jet of fire aimed at him. It was quite something to watch as a spectacle.

While Daenerys is in the midst of the battle, Tyrion watches his brother charge at the Queen and her dragon from afar and utters:

You fucking idiot

But just as Jaime is about to meet the same fate as every other charred Lannister corpse on the battlefield, an unidentified ally comes to his rescue, tackling Jaime out of the way of the flames and into a nearby river.

However, as the fire sweeps above the surface, the final shot in the episode shows Jaime sinking into the water’s depths.

The ending came as a massive surprise, as the leaked scripts were meant to show Jaime and Bronn floating on the water seeing Lannister soldiers sinking while unable to swim due to the weight of their armour. It would have been a better ending in my opinion, too.

However, that’s not how it ended and we’re left safe in the knowledge that Jaime is going to survive, along with Bronn, who is said to be the one who saved him, not Dickon Tarly as some have thought.

What state they’re going to be in is anyone’s guess. But with neither Jaime nor Bronn in the trailer for the next episode of Game of Thrones (which you can watch below), we’re going to have to wait to find out what happens to the pair.

The leaks, that most of us would’ve read, were pretty spot on, so I’ll be surprised if we don’t see some of the other incidents in the next episode.

No one can imagine David Benioff and DB Weiss would kill off Jaime and Bronn without proper closure on the pair, would they?

As incredible as the latest episode was, I was a bit gutted we never saw the original ending, with the sight of the Lannister guards drowning having the potential to enflame Daenerys’ short temper.

I say it every week but roll on the next episode.
