2016 isn’t over yet but the Marvel-hype machine’s already heading into hyper-drive for next year’s biggest sci-fi/superhero mash-up Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2.
After surprising everyone with an out of this world movie back in 2014 the Guardians are back, and if this new teaser’s anything to go by the new film looks even more outrageous and fun than the last one.
James Gunn’s back in the director’s chair and the f*cked up family we all grew to love are returning, including; Star Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) Drax (Dave Bautista) Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and of course Groot (Vin Diesel) who’s a wee bit cuter this time around.
Those involved in the film have been suspiciously quiet about the plot but we do know it’s set a few months after the first one and will see the gang hunting down Star Lord’s dad, Ego The Living Planet, played by 80s action star and all around awesome dude Kurt Russell.
It’s also suspected that the movie will tie into Marvel’s master plan Infinity War – directed by Civil War’s Russo Bros- so be prepared for Thanos (Josh Brolin) and the mystical McGuffins know as the Infinity Stones to get a mention.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2 lands in UK cinemas on April 28, 2017 and is out in the U.S. on May 5, 2017.
