After months of speculation, HBO have finally revealed the fate of Jon Snow, as well as the return date for the much anticipated sixth season of Game of Thrones.

The rumour mill has been spinning on overdrive ever since Snow appeared to die in the fifth season finale and, now, a new teaser image ahead of the new season appears to show that the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch is alive and (sort of) well.

The show’s official Twitter page posted a teaser image of Kit Harington in character, bearing a bloodied face, captioned simply: “APRIL”.

Last time we saw Snow, he looked pretty dead indeed after being stabbed a whole bunch of times but, after Harington was spotted on set in full costume earlier this year, it seemed likely the beloved character would be making a comeback in the new season of the show.

Now the news looks official, although quite what the exciting news of Snow’s return means for the story remains to be seen. Some fans are already speculating that Snow will be resurrected by Melisandre, but will lose a piece of his soul in the process.

However the big man comes back to life, all we know is it’s time to get hyped. Plus, we don’t even have to wait until May to see him back on our screens either. Good news all round!
