A lot of shit has gone down since the UK marginally voted in favour of leaving the EU on Thursday.

We’ve had economic uncertainty, the home nations wanting to pull away from each other and the possibility of this guy being the next Prime Minister:

But finally, some good news has hit us and it’s about bloody time. Fears that Brexit could have spelled the end of Game of Thrones have been talked down by HBO.

The U.S. network released an official statement after Britain voted to leave the European Union, telling fans of the show that the result will not have any ‘material effect’ on production.

They confirmed that although the series received financial support from the EU’s European Regional Development Fund when it first began, there has been zero contribution to its $10 million (£7.3 million) per episode budget in recent years.

The statement said:

This statement is to confirm that Northern Ireland Screen’s production funding comes from the Northern Ireland Executive through Invest NI and does not use monies provided from European funded programmes. We look forward to business as usual.
