Not into exercising? ITV wants you to be.

The broadcast service will be switching off all seven of its channels for an hour to encourage people to get off their sofas and exercise.

Yup, even the TV wants you to get off your ass and start exercising.

On August 27, the channels will be shutting down at 9.30am for an hour in a bid to get Britain to get out and get active following Team GB’s Olympics success, BBC reports.

Keep in mind that August 27 is a Saturday though, so I doubt many of us will be up by then anyway. But in case you are, you may run into a little inconvenience with your Saturday morning TV.

An on-screen message will instead tell viewers: “We’ve gone running – why don’t you join us?”

The move, organised with the National Lottery, will also see 2,000 sports clubs open to let people try new sports for free.

Described as ‘Britain’s biggest sports day’, it will be an official celebration of Team GB’s success at Rio, and Olympic medalists, including long jumper Greg Rutherford, will take part.

Bill Sweeney, the chief executive of the British Olympic Association, said:

‘I Am Team GB’ will be the country’s biggest ever sports day, inviting participants from all the Home Nations to share in the performances of Team GB athletes at Rio 2016 and be inspired to get active.

The National Lottery is a key partner and the work they undertake with the British public to fund athletes’ pursuit of Olympic competition and achieve medal success is vital. We firmly believe that this will be a meaningful way to celebrate success and be a unique opportunity to engage in sport and activity in this country across many forms.

I wouldn’t be too worried if you don’t want to take part, though, I’m sure if you switch over to Dave they’ll have some decent shows on.
