GettyTV favourite Holly Willoughby has allegedly bagged herself a £200,000 pay rise for her role on ITV’s This Morning.
The news comes after it was reported Holly had been earning a third less then her co-preseter Philip Schofield, despite the pair working together for 11 years.
Holly and Phil are currently negotiating salaries for the rebooted series of Dancing On Ice, with sources suggesting ITV have realised they’d be unable to pay them the same for the ice skating competition and not for their work on the popular morning show.
ITVAn insider told the Mirror:
Quite rightly, that has now been rectified and they both earn exactly the same.
The news of their salaries comes not long after the BBC’s annual report was released.
It devastatingly revealed, two-thirds of its stars were earning more than £150,000 whom are male, with Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans the top-paid, earning between £2.2m and £2.25m.
ITVClaudia Winkleman was the highest-paid female celebrity, but earned an amount considerably lower for last year compared to Evans, believed to be in the region of £450,000 to £500,000.
Shortly before the release of the dossier, BBC director general Lord Tony Hall admitted a gender pay gap existed within the corporation – with just one third of the largest salaries handed out to women:
Of the talent earning over £150,000 – two thirds are men and one third are women. Is that where we want to be? No.
Are we pushing further and faster than any other major broadcaster?
Most certainly.
ITVAn exact air date for the next series of Dancing on Ice is yet to be confirmed, but with previous series all starting in January, it is expected to be due in the new year.
Now if all employers can get their skates on in levelling the gender pay gap, that’ll be great news for this morning.
