Number 4, Privet Drive has just been sold for £650,000 – almost £200,000 over the asking price of £475,000, reports the Metro.
The Bracknell property, which was used as the set of 4 Privet Drive in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, was the fictional home of The Boy Who Lived and his evil muggle relatives, the Dursley family.

PicturesWhile Petunia, Vernon and Dudders enjoyed the spacious if homogenised Little Whinging lifestyle afforded by the house’s three bedrooms, spacious family bathroom, large garden with a patio and off-street parking, Harry was famously relegated to the Cupboard Under the Stairs out of Hogwart’s term time.
The property saw filming of several iconic moments in the Harry Potter franchise – from Hagrid swooping down over Surrey on his flying motorbike to Uncle Vernon’s mistaken glee at ‘No post on Sunday’.
GIPHYLet’s just hope the Harry Potter fans who now own the house – and a rather large part of film history – plan to use the cupboard under the stairs for storing hats and coats rather than young boys.
