ITV Via YouTubeI’m a Celeb star Sam Quek has revealed she developed a secret code to send her boyfriend messages while trapped in the jungle.
The Olympic Hockey champion came fourth on this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here but it turns out that she’s been sending her boyfriend, Tom Mairs, messages on the sly.
She confessed that she’d written the numbers 143 on the front of her hat, which is the couple’s special code for saying ‘I love you’ reports the Daily Express.
GettyWhen finally coming out of the jungle Sam explained how she discovered that Tom had written 143 on their bed in rose petals and was clearly emotionally overwhelmed at the situation.
She said:
I love you, I miss you. I’m emotional, I’m welling up now speaking to you. I can’t believe I came fourth.
Despite being a self confessed ‘competitive person’ Sam’s not upset at coming fourth behind eventual winner Scarlett Moffatt, second place Joel Dommett and third place Adam Thomas.
PA ImagesShe joked that for her fourth is just as good as first and that she went into the jungle intending to be a role model for younger girls who’ll hopefully now think ‘yeah, sport is cool’.
