Well, isn’t Holly Willoughby doing well at filling some very big shoes on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!?
So well that you’d like to see her replace Ant McPartlin in future series?
Yes? No? Maybe? Well some viewers are certainly keen on the prospect…
Holly answered the call from ITV after a difficult year for Ant, which saw him involved in a drink-drive collision before entering rehab.
After serious consideration it was decided the former PJ and Duncan star wouldn’t fly down under with presenting partner Dec in order to prioritise his health and recovery.
He announced the decision in an official statement:
My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.
I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.
Credit where it’s due, Holly has done a fantastic job alongside Dec.
The pair have maintained the cheeky repartee which had become synonymous with the Geordie duo’s presenting from the Jungle – which is no mean feat after 15 previous seasons together!
I’d argue Dec deserves a huge share of the plaudits for making the new partnership a success.
I reckon they could’ve legitimately provided a cutout of either Ant or Holly and the pint-sized presenter with a penchant for pointing out the height of others would still bring viewers in with his quick wit, and his expert knowledge of innuendo.
Thankfully major decisions aren’t made via straw polls from social media, at least we hope not – right ITV?
Although some viewers have pointed out a third option; the Jungle’s first presenting trio!
It’s dynamic, it’s edgy, it’s highly unlikely, who are we even kidding… stop being so damn greedy viewers.
While it’s undeniably hilarious seeing Holly struggle to keep down her last meal while the celebs swallow all kinds of delicacies/nasties – I do hope we see Ant in camp again sooner rather than later.
It’s hard enough admitting personal battles to friends and loved ones – he’s had the eyes of the nation on him consistently and deserves a lot of respect for how he’s handled the fallout.
