HuluThe trailer for season three of The Handmaid’s Tale has just dropped, and it looks intense. Scratch that, it looks intense x10.
In just a short two minute span, we have finally been given the answers to some of the questions we’ve been asking for months and get a glimpse at pretty much every major character.
In the trailer, the birth of a powerful resistance movement is teased as we watch June (Elisabeth Moss) rallying a team around her to take on the state.

The show, based on Margaret Atwood’s novel by the same name, followed the storyline of the book in the first season. Since then, it has departed from the book drastically – and it only looks set to continue to do so in season three.
In the opening part of the trailer, we see June highlighting some of the changes that have happened, while being hard at work starting a revolution against her oppressors and rallying allies to fight with her.
We also hear Serena Joy (Yvonne Strahovski) say ‘blessed be the fruit’ – a phrase we’ve heard her say many times before, but which this time gives her a sense of power and general badass-ness about her.
HuluWhile June attempts to save her daughter Hannah from the sadistic authoritatian state, her other daughter, Nicole, appears to arrive safely in Canada.
The trailer isn’t short of drama, showing Emily wading through rivers and getting hunted by Gilead state police helicopters, before getting given a hero’s welcome. We then see June’s husband Luke holding the baby at a political rally.
Other major characters can also be spotted in the trailer; June’s (still alive) flame Nick (Max Minghella), June’s friend Moira, and formidable Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd).

The third season looks set to depart slightly from the violence of the second season, instead focusing on the backstories of the resistance fighters and rebels of the state.
Who else can’t wait?!
