Internet Suggests Endings For The Final Ever ‘Simpsons’ Episode

The Simpsons is probably the greatest TV show ever made.

Sure, the show’s quality has declined in recent years, but they can still crack out some absolute gems from time to time, and you’d be hard pushed to find a better show ever than The Simpsons in its season 3-8 prime.

Even so, the show has to finally end at some point – although we’re currently on season 27 and although there are claims it’ll finally come a close after season 30, nothing’s yet set in stone.

Episodes such as ‘Holidays of Future Passed’, ‘Behind The Laughter’ and ‘Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind’ were both bandied around as potential series finales for the show, while the movie was also suggested as a potential end point at one stage.

Any of those episodes could have served as great end points for the TV classic but how should the show actually end when the team do finally call it a day?

That’s exactly the question which Redditor DiamondPittcairn posed to his fellow Internet users, asking quite simply How would you end The Simpsons?

And some of the suggestion were actually fantastic, and possibly better than what we’ll actually get when the time comes.

Maybe they could bring the show full circle, kind of like Futurama did?

That’s true, by the way. Last year, showrunner Al Jean told the Hollywood Reporter:

I had an idea, I thought it’d be cool if the last episode ended with them getting ready for the Christmas pageant that appeared in the first episode, so that the whole series was a loop that didn’t have a beginning or end. That’s my two cents – but no one has approved that or anything.

Or how about a season long build to the end?

Or they could get really deep…

How about a cheeky Poochie reference?

This guy really thought about it…

It’s about time Homer’s incompetence came back to haunt him…

This would be an interesting one…

Or how about a simple Looney Tunes-style sign off?

Alright, way to bring us all down, mate…

Or they could just get trippy as fuck, like LOST or Battlestar Galactica

However the show finally ends though, I think we can safely say it’ll be emotional!
