Jaime Lannister Made An Incredible Cameo In Simpsons Season Premier

The most popular show in the world at the moment is probably Game of Thrones so it makes sense that the actors will be popping up everywhere.

And there’s no better place for the actors to show their faces than purveyors of popular culture The Simpsons. In truth, it’s hard to think of any popular show or film which hasn’t had a mention at some point on the iconic cartoon.

So when the premier of the latest season of The Simpsons was revealed to be a medieval type episode, fans were definitely expecting references to the HBO show.

But it was a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo from Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the episode, which most people won’t have caught.

Jaime Nikolaj played Marge’s twin in the episode, where he tells her he’s always there if she ‘needs’ him… sound familiar?

If fans happened to miss the little reference, Nikolaj was on hand just to prove that it was indeed him making the appearance.

The episode, officially titled ‘The Serfsons’, is full of references to the episode, but this is the strongest link the two worlds have.

One of the best was the placement of Ned Flanders’ head on a spike, in replacement of Ned Stark’s – may he rest in peace.

They even eschewed the typical Bart phone prank with Moe for sending a raven instead – the typical form of long distance communication in Westeros.

Season eight of Game of Thrones is on the way sometime in the very distant future, and that will be the end of our time in Westeros, but it’s likely that The Simpsons will just continue to run in perpetuity.

It’s not as popular as it used to be but The Simpsons is still going strong, with strong viewing figures even for season 28. The most popular episode of the latest season even surpassed any episode from Game of Thrones‘ first five seasons.

As things currently stand in Westeros, things don’t look all that promising, with the Night King finally making his way south of the Wall, and Cersei not offering anything in the way of help.

There is always an almost inevitable conflict to come between Jon and Daenerys when Jon realises he is in fact Daenerys’ nephew, and the real heir to the Iron Throne.

Not that that particularly matters to Jon, but it sure as hell is going to matter to Dany, who has spent most of her life claiming she is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.

Jaime Lannister, interestingly enough, is in a kind of limbo after leaving his beloved Queen/sister/lover for what we presume to be the north of Westeros and the great battles to come.

It’s still unclear how he’s going to fare among the northerners, but it’s likely that Tyrion will vouch for him and he’ll be alright.

The next question surrounding Jaime Lannister hasn’t got anything to do with little cameos, but whether he is in fact the crucial person in Westeros who is going to bring down the Night King.

Only time will tell.
