Even comedians who normally keep stuff pretty middle of the road are having a pop at Daesh now…

James Corden had the audience on a recent episode of The Late Late Show laughing despite the sensitive subject matter, reports The Mirror.

Corden mercilessly mocked Daesh over claims that the jihadists were seeking doctor’s notes to get them out of frontline action.

While going through a round-up of news from the week, he said:

I don’t know if you saw this week, it was reported that members of ISIS are trying to fake doctor’s notes to get themselves out of frontline duty.

Imagine a member of ISIS calling in like, Oh hey guys (coughs), I’ve actually got a bit of a cough so I don’t think I can go to the suicide bombing today.

I just really want to be at my best when I do it, so… (coughs), I’ll try and get some work done from home.

Corden was referring to a report by the U.S military’s think tank, the Center for Combating Terrorism (CTC) which revealed:

The personnel shortages were also evidenced by an Islamic State document that emerged last year.

Issued in Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria, the document indicates that a number of Islamic State members had been seeking false medical reports from doctors in order to avoid frontline duty.

Other reports have suggested the group are struggling to maintain morale up as they deal with territory losses, military pressure and financial problems.

Surely they can just forge their mums’ signatures?
