Last week, James Corden introduced the brand new Drop The Mic segment to his Late Late Show, featuring an epic, and seemingly personal, battle against Anne Hathaway, but this latest edition is even better.
Enter David Schwimmer.
You probably wouldn’t expect Schwimmer to be much of a rap god, but let me take you back to his musical days as Ross Geller in Friends.
Do you remember when he demonstrated his insane skills on the keyboard? Oh wait, no, he was awful. But he is pretty good at taking the piss out of James Corden.
As the battle commences, Corden asks Schwimmer if he really wants this, and a stare off ensues before Schwimmer spits out a casual affirmative.
Corden then goes on to rip David apart saying, ‘millennials let me introduce you to this guy, his name is David he was famous back in ’95’, and ‘here’s the chance to prove you got balls while I ignore you, like Jennifer Anniston does your calls’.
I think it’s only fair to say that Schwimmer genuinely looks pretty hurt, but he comes back like a bullet and fires some serious shots at Corden.
He starts by saying:
A Brit in America is your one claim to fame. We all know as an actor your roles were all the same- the heavy best friend, the humorous sidekick with a belly so big you can’t find your own [pointing to his manhood] – Dickens, the author we all read as kids, he’s British like you but people know who he is.
It goes on, and it’s fair to say that the whole fiasco continuously gets better and better – especially when Rebel Wilson bursts through out of nowhere and destroys the hapless pair of them.
We won’t spoil it all for you but I think it’s now easy to predict that Drop The Mic is going to be even bigger than Carpool Karaoke – and for all the right reasons.
