Jason Momoa Looked Completely Different When He Was Younger

As I write this, I know I can take pride in saying there’s one thing we all share in common with the A-listers, even model/actors like Jason Momoa.

If you look back at your old photos, like so many of us do, there’s always a dodgy haircut which crops up, or a specific outfit which makes us shudder.

The point I’m making, is in nearly all cases, we look very different to what we once did in our younger years.

However, Game of Thrones and Justice League star Jason Momoa looks completely different.

Despite not being a victim of a cringe-worthy haircut or any embarrassing outfits, like a fluroescent tracksuit, (guilty), he looks surprisingly different!

Before starring as the fierce and muscular Khal Drogo in GoT, Jason was not only less hairy, but also one of Hawaii’s top models.

After being discovered by international designer Takeo Kobayashi – the person who encouraged Jason to pursue a career as a model – Momoa went on to be crowned Hawaii’s Model of the Year in 1999, report The Express.

At the age of 19, while working in a local surf shop in Hawaii, his pretty boy credentials led to him being scouted for a role in Baywatch Hawaii.

I’m sure you don’t need a description, but for those of you unfamiliar with the Baywatch frachise – it’s basically famous for its clean-cut, chiselled actors – slightly opposite to his role of the scary Khal Drogo.

Between 1999 and 2001, Momoa played Jason Ioane in the show, before he went on to land roles in North Shore, Johnson Family Vacation and Stargate: Atlantis.

As you can imagine, Momoa and GoT fans have been flabbergasted by the revelation of his younger photos:

Obviously, (well for Thrones fans), it wasn’t until later, when Jason bulked up and became Khal Drogo – warlord of the Dothraki that he took the look we’re more used to seeing.

However, Jason’s past doesn’t revolve completely around modelling and running across the beach in slow motion.

He says the famous scar on his eyebrow was the result of a bar fight, telling the New York Post:

I got called ‘pretty boy’ my whole life.

If anything, it’s like, ‘Good.’ It’s not my thing now.

It’s not all smooth sailing for Mr Momoa though.

Warner Bros

Recent reports suggest Warner Bros – the company who made his latest film, Justice Leagueare facing a possible $100m loss.

Their latest instalment in the DC Extended Universe hasn’t opened to rave reviews and the box office taking isn’t looking too healthy either.

Rob Cain, a former studio executive and current film finance consultant and producer, has tallied up the estimates based on the available data for Forbes, saying:

The current box office trajectory suggests a final domestic theatrical gross of around $235 million (that’s assuming a 2.45x multiplier on the $96 million first weekend gross, 2.45 being the median multiplier for DC’s prior 4 DCEU releases).

Overseas I’m projecting a final international tally of around $400 million (assuming fairly generously that JL gets the same hefty 2.15x multiple on its $185 million opening weekend overseas that Batman v Superman (BvS) got on its first overseas weekend.

Check out the trailer below:

Adding the domestic and overseas numbers gets us a $635 million worldwide theatrical gross – if the number holds up it would mean that Justice League is the lowest-grossing movie among the five DCEU releases so far.

Regardless, I’d say Jason hasn’t got too much to worry about!
