Watch out Duff Man, Aquaman is heading to Springfield, ready to become the new superhero of The Simpsons universe.
Yep. Jason Momoa is set to become the latest celebrity to join the family on their doughnut fuelled misadventures, following in the yellow footsteps as stars such as Justin Bieber, Seth Rogen and Guillermo del Toro.
The 39-year-old former Khal will be making a guest appearance on the long running animated series, popping up in what will be their 31st season (can you actually believe it?).

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Momoa will play himself and will appear in an episode which features the San Castellaneta festival.
Executive producer of The Simpsons Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly how the ep will see Momoa getting accosted by chain-smoking aunts Patty and Selma:
He is the celebrity that shows up and talks about this legend of this saint who was ground up and martyred and became the origin of modern-day pistachio ice cream.
He tells this very gruesome story — and then Patty and Selma want him to sign their boobs and he runs away.
This episode will reportedly also feature a guest appearance by Breaking Bad legend Bob Odenkirk, who will – in an inspired piece of casting – portray a lawyer who gets mixed up with shady rat milk gangster Fat Tony.
Season 31? That would put Bart in his 40s and Grampa near 100!

Jean added that the team had been keen to have Momoa aboard for some time, and were delighted to finally have him on the show:
We would hear, ‘Oh, he’s filming on a top of a mountain or he’s filming under the water,’
It was hard to get him in a studio that was within the terrestrial realm.
Other celebs getting The Simpsons treatment in the upcoming season include comedian John Mulaney and chimpanzee expert Dr. Jane Goodall.
Fans of The Simpsons and Momoa alike have been delighted by this casting, taking to Twitter to praise the ‘terrific casting’.
One person applauded:
The Simpsons Still running wild after 30 seasons, S31 will feature Jason Momoa.
Another joked:
I guess that means my wife might finally watch.
Jason Momoa has been cast to play as the actor Jason Momoa of Aquaman fame in the latest season of The Simpsons? Terrific casting I would say.
